What's wrong with fast food?

So what's the big deal about people that work in fast food? That's an awesome question...let's talk about that for a minute. First off the biggest thing that I hear is "I don't wanna flip burgers for a living". Umm ok...so if nobody else is hiring and you need a job to pay the bills...what are you gonna do? Not take a job in fast food cause of your pride? That would be a mistake! If it was me, I'd rather be making 8 or 9 dollars an hour than nothing at all. You can always adjust your living to suit your current income. Oh yeah it's gonna be hard...I didn't say it was gonna be easy. That's what life is all about. Living and learning. Learning to swallow your pride, suck it up and go get a freakin job. If that means at a fast food place then so be it! It doesn't mean you can't find a better job down the road. What about benefits? Now I know when you start at a fast food place you usually don't get benefits till you become a manager. So what! Don't let that discourage you. Once you get hired, work your ass off to get promoted and stay outta the drama at work. It's not that hard.
The second thing I hear alot of when it comes to fast food is from women. I hear ALOT of women say they wouldn't wanna date a guy that works in fast food. That's kinda weird for me too. Wouldn't you wanna date a guy that at least has a job than nothing at all and is constantly hitting you up for money and a ride? If the table was turned I'd definitely wanna date a woman that works in fast food. I'd take that over not having a job at all. What you get paid depends on alot. What you do with the money all depends on YOU! If your spending way beyond your means then yeah...you're always gonna be broke. If and only if you can discipline yourself to be responsible with your money then you can succeed. And you will! So the next time you hear of someone working in fast food...give em a break. At least they have a job! And women...take it easy on guys that are in fast food. Their trying...some of them the only way they know how. So cut em some slack...they can always be promoted and move up the chain of command. Bottom line is...a job is a job. Handle your business, pay your bills, and by all means HAVE FUN!
Feel free to leave me some comments letting me know your thoughts...

  1. At this point in my life, I agree with your point of view on fast food employment. However, there WAS a time in my life when I felt there was a stigma to food service and I did not want to ever have to resort to working in food service, as it seemed ALL my friends did. I guess I thought I was better than those who had fast food or other food service jobs. I had the advantage of a father with his own business, who got me into carpentry in my summer's off from school. I am not sure why I held onto this stigma or when I got it, but I know that I lost it when I finally hit a point in my life that I had to get a job with my friend at Olive Garden in order to make rent. Once you have worked in any food service, you gain the necessary empathy and hopefully respect for those people who work hard to produce food for everyone else.

  2. No matter what job you have at least your paying your bills .So the people who criticize your job and what you do for a living need to realize that when they want a big mac and use a drive-up that there is a real person working hard for there money and has to put up with bitchy people that are not grateful and are demanding .So I truly applaud all the people in food service for there hard work
